OTW + Running this week

This weekend was fun in an insane way.  I packed up our (that's right-- me and the dog) bags and headed over to Jess's house.  At 10am we ran 8 miles.  She took me up this ridiculous hill, and I almost threw her off a cliff for it.  We spent the rest of the day playing with the kids, making the most delicious brick oven pizza (red pepper and artichoke hearts!).  We got super giddy and pumped for our night run at about 6pm.  Too bad our night run didn't start until 11pm, because an hour and a half later we soo tired.  We fought sleepiness by baking cookies and driving to drop off water at our halfway point.  Then we sat in a catatonic (and very smelly) state until it was time to lace up and head out.  Shockingly the 11 miles felt good.  And when we showered and crashed.  The next morning we met with all the ladies and pounded out another 8.  When I say pounded out I do mean I very slowly ran 6 and then walk-ran the last 2 miles of hills.  I figured I ran 25 miles in less that 24 hours without stopping (which is already 7 miles more than my actually race mileage), so I could be moderately lazy.  We got our shirts at the team meeting (they are soo fun), ate bagels, and finished up any last minute planning.

When I got home I slept, ate, slept again, ate, and then went to sleep for the night.  That is what 27 miles does to you.  I also went grocery shopping, did 5 loads of laundry, cleaned the kitchen, and barely made it through a shower.

To be honest, I don't feel like I ran 27 miles this weekend.  A perk of being 23.75 years old.  And far as running this week, I'm not going to do anything too crazy, because, well, I'm already a freaking beast.

M: rest
