Today, at 1:30pm, England and America will duke it out. The odds are heavy. England has history and technique on their side. America has fitness and finesse.
Who. Will. Win?
Cup half-empty: it's a lose-lose situation in my house. If England wins, my country loses. If America wins, Chris will hate the world for the next 4 years.
Cup half full: it's a win-win situation. If England wins, my husband is thrilled. If America wins, well, suck it, England!
Hopefully by 1:30 I know who I'm rooting for.
P.S. I can't believe it's been 4 years since I was working at the help desk at Lee University, watching the world cup with Jason, and trying to lose the freshman 15 (give or take 5lbs). I didn't know I was 56 days away from meeting Mr. Hennessey. (he thought i was cute even though I was thicker than a snicker). I didn't know in less than two years I would have studied abroad, graduated, and gotten married. Or that I would be moving to Maine. Or that my mom would be sick. Or that my friends would be getting married and having babies. Or that I would have gained all that weight back (Damn)
Astounding to think that something like the world cup makes me so nostalgic and yet so excited for the next four years. (also astounding that my P.S. is longer than my actual blog post)
