Working on a Holiday

7:50am - stop my mcdonalds to get the frappe that i already know has 500 calories

7:51am - start thinking of what I am not going to eat for lunch and dinner to make up for my indulgence

7:55am - park in employee lot 1 mile from building and realize shuttle isn't operating today.

7:56am - start running towards building to make it by 8am

8:01am - success(ish). logged in and in chair.

8:02am - realize the hospital is a ghost town, what will i do until 4:30pm?

8:03am - busy work

8:23am - crap. i've done all the busy work i can.

8:24 - 9:01 am - stare at wall. relive my awful night last night-- i woke up to a bug crawling on my neck and could not go back to sleep. heart racing. need to stop thinking about it. i will look at shoes. whew-- that's better.

9:02am - a patient! a patient!! i'm sure i freaked him out with my over-friendliness. oh, you only need to pick up a copy of your xray. well, darn, that only takes 20 seconds.

9:03-9:51am - more shoes

9:52am - the phone rings! -- wrong department

9:53am - 12pm blog reading, looked for rainboots, planned some upcoming wedding stuff

12:30pm - fruit snacks for lunch

1:00pm - read two blogs about women who lost babies to congenital heart disorders. cried at my desk. realized i've never truly experienced a loss firsthand. i'm not ready to. i'm sure no one ever is.

2:00pm - studied anatomy

3:00pm - studied spanish
