I'm thankful that we don't have to pay rent for the month of December!

Wait, what? How?

We got our December invoice and it says ($2.53), as in, the building owes us $2.53. Except they totally messed it up. Our lease is up Dec 10th, but we are staying in this (1 bedroom) apartment until Chris's parents head back to England (no thank you studio apartment with 4 people in it). So since we're staying the whole month, we owe a full month's rent. Chris went down to explain and make thing right, and the people basically said, "we have no one moving in to either place, so don't worry about it."

Don't worry about $800? Right, okay. Our building hasn't been known for being the most organized or professional. We're putting the money in a separate account for a few months, just in case they ask for it. But for the most part, I think we're living here rent free this month. Hooray!
