The day we got back from England we started gathering tax documents. Last years naivety equaled paying more money that we made in 1 month back to the IRS. We spent all of last year trying to prevent that from happening again. Our accountant wasn't too helpful, so we switched. Our new accountant is awesome. We submitted all our documents to him, and tried not to think about it. And so we wait and wait.
I'm in the maternity/ community health rotation of clinical right now. I had to attend a baby care education class and be a school nurse for the day. Both were great fun. I'm reminded, yet again, that I don't like children. I know, I know, "it's different when they are your own." Luckily Chris likes kids and I like babies so about age 4 we'll do a flip flop on parenting duties. Scoff now; we have a couple of years to figure logistics out. Since I haven't actually had a patient load this semester. It feels like I haven't started school yet, and it's throwing my schedule off. That all changes next week though. And so I wait and wait.
We've always wanted another dog. And Cooper could use some company. It never seemed like a good time though. They need a lot of attention. We live on the 4th floor of an apartment building. They are expensive. Well guess what. We're getting a dog. The litter was born last Saturday. They are akc registered English golden retrievers (read: $1500 dollar dogs), but since our good friend's dog fathered the litter we get one for free. So it's happening. In 8 weeks little Phillipa (Pippa) or Penelope (Penny) will be joining our family. Yes, we chose traditional English names. Yes, I know we're crazy. And, yes, we're so very excited. And so we wait and wait.
I took Cooper out today in a short sleeve shirt, running capris, and no jacket. I couldn't believe how warm it was. I pulled out my phone to check the temp; it was 34. You're officially an Eskimo when 34 degrees feels warm. I'm totally itching for Spring/Summer now. We've got some really fun excursions/vacations/ races/ etc to look forward to. And so we wait and wait.
So while we wait and wait for our changes big and small,
I am constantly reminding myself to:
So I'm off to be present.
That involves a messy bed where two of my favorite boys await me.
Goodnight!
